Motorola Droid Xyboard Tablets Official, Coming to Verizon

After a month of leaks and teases, Verizon Wireless has finally officially confirmed the Motorola LTE-enabled Droid Xyboard tablets, and it looks like they will be hitting shelves this month.
Droid Xyboard tabletsFor those of you who have been living under a rock, here is a little refresher on these two tablets. Known as the Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition in Europe, the Xyboard tablet comes in two designs: one with an 8.2-inch IPS display and the other with a larger 10.1-inch IPS display. Both Xyboard tablets will pack the same 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 5MP rear-facing camera, 1.3MP front face webcam and IR transmitter for home theater use. Both will launch with Android Honeycomb 3.2, but will receive the Ice Cream Sandwich update in the near future.
While the 10.1-inch Xyboard will ship with a stylus, its 8.2-inch counterpart will be equipped with more media-friendly applications. Both tablets will come with Motorola’s MOTOCAST media streaming software, QuickOffice HD, Citrix, GoToMeeting and the usual suite of Google apps.
Now for the new news, it appears the 10.1-inch Xyboard will come in a trifecta of memory variants: a 16GB model for $530, a 32GB for $630 and a 64GB for $730. For those interested in a more compact slate, the 8.2-inch Xyboard will retail for $430 and $530 for the 16GB and 32GB models, respectively.
All of these prices are with a two-year contract. Though Verizon is remaining mum on an actual release date.
